The King's Man Release Postponed to 2021

The King's Man theatrical release has been pushed to 2021. In a move that's not all that uncommon these days, The King's Man's release was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It was originally set for release on Sept. 18 but has been pushed back five months to February 26, 2021, according to a press release from Disney. The company also announced that Nomadland will get a limited release on Dec. 4 and that a new Pixar Animation film, now titled Luca, will be released June 18, 2021. The King's Man distribution hands switched from 21st Century Fox to Disney after the latter purchased the former last year and hasn't seen much marketing from Disney since the pandemic began. It's why a delay like this isn't surprising. After all, it's not alone as many movies have seen their release and production schedules delayed due to the virus. Disney has been trying different things when it comes to putting out their movies during this pandemic. Disney films like Mulan are going tp Disney+, while The New Mutants, which became a Disney movie after the 21st Century Fox acquisition much like The King's Man, is set to release in theaters tomorrow. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/the-kings-man-official-trailer-3"] It remains possible that The King's Man, a prequel to 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and its subsequent sequel, will see its release route change again if COVID-19 remains an issue come next year but for now, it's set for February 26, 2021. If you're looking for more of The King's Man while waiting for its release, read about how it began as a different movie not set in the Kingsman universe. Then watch this video about how the prequel ups the crazy Kingsman action. If that's not enough, be sure to check out the latest trailer for The King's Man. Here are some ways to help, and stay safe, during the coronavirus pandemic. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Wesley LeBlanc is a freelance news writer and guide maker for IGN.
