Jared Leto's Joker Followups Reportedly Shelved
Fans of Jared Leto's portrayal of The Joker in Suicide Squad may be in for some disappointing news, as it appears Leto's solo Joker film may no longer be happening.
According to Forbes, Leto's Joker film has "fallen by the wayside" along with the "Mad Love-type Joker and Harley Quinn film." Suicide Squad, itself, will reportedly move forward with a sort of "soft reboot," and Forbes reports Margot Robbie's Harley is not expected to return for the sequel.
"The Suicide Squad sequel...is expected to have a new cast of characters and avoid direct tie-in to the first film's events," Forbes reports. "Harley Quinn is not expected to return, and James Gunn's script will be a new approach and rethinking of the property."

Why Link's Awakening Is Secretly the Darkest Zelda Game
Ask any Zelda fan which Zelda game is the “darkest” and they’ll immediately tell you Majora’s Mask. It’s an obvious choice, of course, and a seemingly correct one. Majora’s Mask is a game about a world drenched in shadows, centered on an increasingly paranoid town full of obtuse characters, all dealing with the oncoming apocalypse in their own ways. Warbled, strange, music drifts in the background and a gigantic, nightmarish moon slowly descends over the land, threatening to obliterate everything in it. Even the box art itself is dark, ditching the usual triumphant gold foil or heroic Link pose in favor of the titular Majora’s Mask itself; a terrifying, threatening thing with bug-eyes and spikes. And it’s only one of several horrible veils you can wear during the game’s seemingly hopeless story. Yes, Majora’s Mask is a grim story right down to its overworld named “Terminus” which is a title that just reeks of death and despair.

Nickelodeon Reviving Are You Afraid of the Dark and All That
Nickelodeon has announced a new Are You Afraid of the Dark? TV miniseries that will be coming to the network in October 2019.
The series will coincide with the upcoming feature film of the same name, that will premiere on October 4, 2019, from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players, and Nickelodeon Movies.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow the format of the classic anthology that first premiered in 1990. New members of the Midnight Society will gather around a campfire and tell their scary stories among the woods and darkness.
One of the other popular 90s' pop-culture hits, All That, will be returning as well. The series will be a weekly sketch-comedy, showcasing a new cast of kids – but old cast members are said to make appearances throughout the season.

Majora’s Mask is a game about a world drenched in shadows, centered on an increasingly paranoid town full of obtuse characters, all dealing with the oncoming apocalypse in their own ways. Warbled, strange, music drifts in the background and a gigantic, nightmarish moon slowly descends over the land, threatening to obliterate everything in it. Even the box art itself is dark, ditching the usual triumphant gold foil or heroic Link pose in favor of the titular Majora’s Mask itself; a terrifying, threatening thing with bug-eyes and spikes. And it’s only one of several horrible veils you can wear during the game’s seemingly hopeless story. Yes, Majora’s Mask is a grim story right down to its overworld named “Terminus” which is a title that just reeks of death and despair.

Nickelodeon Reviving Are You Afraid of the Dark and All That
Nickelodeon has announced a new Are You Afraid of the Dark? TV miniseries that will be coming to the network in October 2019.
The series will coincide with the upcoming feature film of the same name, that will premiere on October 4, 2019, from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players, and Nickelodeon Movies.
Are You Afraid of the Dark? will follow the format of the classic anthology that first premiered in 1990. New members of the Midnight Society will gather around a campfire and tell their scary stories among the woods and darkness.
One of the other popular 90s' pop-culture hits, All That, will be returning as well. The series will be a weekly sketch-comedy, showcasing a new cast of kids – but old cast members are said to make appearances throughout the season.

Alita may be a bit off-putting at first, but moviegoers have been getting used to this sort of thing for some time now. Developments in visual effects filmmaking have allowed humans to be altered or entirely created via CGI, and the result has almost always been a little off. The feeling this “offness” creates in the viewer is what is known as the uncanny valley.
The uncanny valley occurs when an observer is supposed to recognize a humanoid object as real, but said object comes off as out-of-place and creepy. 'Excellence' Reveals a Magical Secret Society in Turmoil
Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have announced a brand new fantasy series called Excellence. This new project centers around a secret society of black magicians working to change the world, one thrown into turmoil by the emergence of an idealistic young magician named Spencer Dales.
Excellence is notable for having a creative team comprised entirely of creators of color, including writer Brandon Thomas (Horizon), artist Khary Randolph (Mosaic), colorist Emilio Lopez (Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider) and letterer Deron Bennett (Jim Henson's A Tale of Sand).

Skybound's official description for the series reads, "Spencer Dales was born into a world of magic. His father belongs to the Aegis, a secret society of black magicians ordered by their unseen masters to better the lives of others—of higher potential—but never themselves. Nickelodeon’s holding the “Best Year Ever,” a tribute that includes an original one-hour special called SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout, which is premiering on Friday, July 12. There are also plans to expand the SpongeBob SquarePants universe with spinoffs focused on the core characters from the show, bringing them into new series, specials and feature-length movies. It will ultimately culminate with the May 22, 2020 release of The SpongeBob Movie: It’s A Wonderful Sponge.

It's hard to find great horror movies that are also great love stories, because for the most part, those things are polar opposites. Many of the greatest and scariest horror movies ever made are all about ripping people who care about each other apart, literally and figuratively. The Shining may be terrifying but it's hardly a comforting date movie, if you catch the drift.

Hollow Knight developer, Team Cherry, has announced a full-scale sequel to Hollow Knight called Hollow Knight: Silksong.
"Almost from the very start, Hornet’s adventure was intended to take place in a new land, but as we dove in, it quickly became too large and too unique to stay a DLC, as initially planned. We do know that makes the wait a little longer, but we think the final, fresh world you’ll get to explore is worth it," Team Cherry's post reads.
The game will be releasing on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch at launch. Team Cherry said that more platforms may be added in the future.

Nintendo Has a Strong 2019 Lineup, But Doesn't Want to Show It All Just Yet
Nintendo’s first Direct of 2019 opened and closed with two previously unannounced first party games — Super Mario Maker 2 and a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Both are Switch exclusives set for a 2019 launch, and yet, as terrible as it is to be ungrateful for what we did get, it’s easy to slip into the “why didn’t they show X?” state of mind.
And while many of the already announced 2019 exclusives didn’t receive a spotlight at this Direct, it’s not really a cause for concern. In fact, Nintendo holding back some of its heavy hitters shows the company has learned from its mistakes, and taken as a whole, has responded to the criticisms of Switch experiencing a lighter second year than its launch year.

Frozen 2’s new trailer is here, and everyone is asking: Who’s that girl?
There’s not one but two new characters introduced in the two-minute teaser. And while the Internet seems to hope that mysterious lady is Elsa’s girlfriend, we have a different theory.
Ever since Frozen was released, fans have been asking for Elsa to have a female love interest, the most prominent being the #MakeElsaGay movement spurred on by the coming out themes in Elsa's story throughout the first movie.

The popular Nickelodeon network is reportedly near a deal for an animated Star Trek series from Star Trek Executive Producer, Alex Kurtzman, according to THR.
The animated show is meant to be kid-friendly and will target younger viewers. It will be written by Emmy-winning writers Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman, known for Trollhunters, The LEGO movie, and Ninjago.
The series will mark the first ever Star Trek series to be at a network outside of NBC, besides Star Trek: Discovery and the announcement last year of the new animated comedy series, Star Trek: Lower Decks, being picked up by CBS All Access and premiering on their streaming platform.

Falcon Age Is Much More Than Just a Bird Fistbump Sim
You’ve probably seen the Falcon Age tweets. It looks like a PSVR game, there’s a baby bird, and it’s doing a fist bump. Or putting on a little hat. Sometimes it’s an adult bird, which would look a lot less cute, except for the fact that it’s putting on a little hat too.
Having played around an hour of the game at DICE this week, I can attest that all of this is in the game, and all of it is as excellent as those gifs promised. There’s just a lot more to Falcon Age than that.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Amazon Prime Video dropped the first episode of Hanna for a 24-hour sneak peek... and then it was gone! Now, the streaming provider has finally revealed when you can binge the remaining episodes.
All eight episodes are set to drop on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, March 29. "Raised in total seclusion in the remote woods of Eastern Europe, 15-year-old Hanna (Esmé Creed-Miles) has spent her entire young life training to fight those who hunt her and her mercenary father, Erik Heller (Joel Kinnaman). Her survivalist skills are finally tested when she and Erik are separated upon their discovery by a rogue CIA operative, Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos) and her team of agents," according to a synopsis from Amazon.

NASA Declares Mars Rover Opportunity Dead, Mission Complete After 15 Years
After more than eight months without any communication, NASA officially declared the Mars Opportunity Rover's mission completed on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
The Opportunity Rover was on the planet of Mars for a record-breaking 15 years, since 2004.
"I declare the Opportunity mission as complete, and with it the Mars Exploration Rover mission complete," Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of NASA's Science Mission Directorate, said Wednesday, reported by Space.com.
NASA's official Twitter account also shared confirmation of the mission ending and information about what the Opportunity Rover has brought in terms of data and knowledge to their team.

New Switch-Exclusive Platinum Game Announced
A brand new game from Bayonetta developer PlatinumGames was revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, Astral Chain. It will be launching exclusively on Switch on August 30, 2019.
Astral Chain is an action game with a sci-fi setting where you appear to be fighting giant demonic monsters, seemingly with glowing glowing blue chains that you use to tie them to the ground. Although gameplay was shown, not much of it was explained.
Part of that is, by Nintendo’s own admission, there appear to be two characters fighting at once – one a more regular looking person and the other a sort of mech/robot type thing that they are connected to. Nintendo teased at this fact but didn’t explain how those two characters would actually control in practice.
