PS5 Preorders Aren't Available Yet, But Sony Offers Fans a Chance to Be First to Buy

While we are still waiting for an official price and release date for the PlayStation 5, Sony is giving its fans a chance to sign up to be one of the first people to pre-order the PS5. If you go to the PS5 Direct Pre-Orders page on PlayStation's website, Sony mentions that, "there will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation." The reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you are selected, Sony "encourages you to follow instructions and act fast." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/12/ps5-reveal-event-in-5-minutes"] Those who are interested to potentially receive one of these invitations can share their PlayStation Online IDs and, if selected, Sony will e-mail you the instructions to secure a PS5 a launch. So, make sure the e-mail attached to you PlayStation ID is up to date! Sony also released a FAQ for these PS5 pre-orders, saying that the selection of who gets chosen for a PS5 pre-order is "based on previous interest and PlayStation activities." Those who are selected will be able to pre-order the following, if they choose:
  • 1 PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition
  • 2 DualSense wireless controllers
  • 2 DualSense charging stations
  • 2 Pulse 3D wireless headsets
  • 2 Media remotes
  • 2 HD cameras
