Is Eugene really "Negan"? That's the biggest question to come out of The Walking Dead, and it's not one that's easily answered by looking to the AMC drama's source material.
"Hostiles and Calamities" did a pretty darn good job convincing the audience that Eugene, self-professed coward that he is, would turn to the dark side upon his arrival at The Sanctuary. Surrounded by people who only know he managed to make bullets without the typical manufacturing resources, Eugene quickly slipped into an old routine of pretending that he was an esteemed scientist before the zombie apocalypse -- and he seems to really like playing that person in Negan's world.
