Jurassic World's Colin Trevorrow to Direct Atlantis Thriller for Universal Pictures

Jurassic World: Dominion director Colin Trevorrow is re-teaming with Universal Pictures for a new film centered around the mythical city of Atlantis. Deadline reports that Trevorrow lined up the sci-fi thriller Atlantis as his next project ahead of restarting production on the final Jurassic World film. The film is said to be based on a plot about the legend of the lost city that Trevorrow and his Metronome Film Co. will produce. The narrative will apparently take a different approach to previous incarnations of the mythical city's underwater kingdom. Instead of submerging into these stories, it is understood that Trevorrow's Atlantis is going to be set on "a lost continent in the Indian Ocean between Africa, India and Oceania," which is described as "a multicultural civilization with its own advanced technology."
