Subscribers are reporting either losing connection or problems with video streaming itself. According to Downdetector, reports about Netflix going down spiked around 9 am PT/12 pm ET. There appear to be problems with connecting to the website browser version of Netflix, and 41% of users are reporting connectivity issues with the service. Netflix has seen an increased number of users as various cities across the globe issue lockdown orders or shelter-in-place directives amidst a COVID-19 pandemic that's currently affecting the world. Last week, Netflix announced that it would be lowering the quality of its streams in the EU by default to ease the strain the uptick in usage has had on local internet networks.
