Nintendo will reportedly delay its annual E3 Direct broadcast this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and Japan’s state of emergency orders that have forced more employees to work from home. VentureBeat and Eurogamer both reported that Nintendo’s annual June Direct, which premieres during the week of E3, has been pushed back as Nintendo employees adjust to work-from-home orders. Nintendo has reportedly told partners that it needs more time to develop its first-party games. Nintendo has not settled on a replacement date for its next Direct, but have told third-party developers who might usually get a spot on a Direct that they can reveal their games individually.
