HBO is creating a miniseries based on the 2016 Trump-Clinton election, with Tom Hanks on board as a producer.
According to CBS News, the miniseries will be based on the third book in Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's Game Change series, which will be released in early 2018. The HBO series will then debut sometime after that unspecified date.
There's no word on who will play either Trump or Clinton. However, Jay Roach, who directed an adaptation of the first Game Change book for HBO, will return to helm and executive produce this iteration. Roach also directed HBO's All the Way, which starred Bryan Cranston as President Lyndon B. Johnson.
