Suicide Squad, Civil War Boost Business for Rivals

Needless to say, comic book movies were big business for Hollywood studios this year, with rivals Warner Bros. and Disney each enjoying boosts to their bottom lines thanks to their latest respective DC and Marvel screen offerings.

Time Warner, parent company of Warner Bros., revealed on an earnings call today that earnings "rose 6.7 percent to $3.4 billion in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, driven by the success of movies Suicide Squad and Sully. Superhero movie Suicide Squad, which premiered in early August, brought in around $750 million worldwide, executives said."
