GameStop saw slower sales than the retailer expected with new game releases in October, even though the month featured launches for Battlefield 1, Gears of War 4 and Titanfall 2.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, GameStop CEO Paul Raines discussed the disappointing results with investors.
"Our expectation was that the new titles released in October would provide a catalyst for new software sales, but despite gaining market share, the titles underperformed our forecasted sales," he said.
No specific games were highlighted, but Civilization 6, Mafia 3, Paper Mario: Color Splash and World of Final Fantasy also released last month in addition to the big shooters already mentioned.
