The Witcher 3's Xbox One day one patch improves frame rate at the cost of visuals/cutscenes - Report

Day one patch leads to stuttering pre-rendered cutscenes on Xbox One, Digital Foundry says.






After comparing the game before and after the day one patch, Digital Foundry states that applying the Xbox One patch introduces “aggressive stuttering” during the game’s pre-rendered cutscenes, causing videos to play at as low as 22fps.


Texture filtering during the initial tutorial sequence is also said to have been “downgraded” after installing the patch, leading to blurrier textures at a distance. The site claims that this isn’t an issue beyond the opening sequence, however.
