Fable Creator on 'Big Mistake' He Made With the Series

Peter Molyneux recently discussed his regrets regarding the Fable series, citing the large time jumps between each game as the "big mistake" he made with Microsoft's fantasy role-playing franchise. "I think we moved through time

too quickly," he said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered. He noted how the original Fable and Fable II were 500 years apart, and, in retrospect, he thinks it should have been a 50-year time jump instead.

"It meant that the world jumped," he continued. "The same with Fable II to Fable III. Again, the world jumped into more of a kind of inspired by Victorian times. I loved the fact that Bowerstone had grown into more of an industrial thing, but we moved too far forward and that meant that we ran out of time. You know, where do we go next? Fable in space? That didn't really fit."
