A Visual History of Robots, Androids, and Cyborgs in Anime

Robots are cool. Androids are cool. Cyborgs are cool. In fact, pretty much anything part human, part machine-- or just straight up machine-- is cool with us. So in honor of all things automaton, we've put together a comprehensive visual history of robots, androids, and cyborgs in anime, because anime is pretty cool too.

Note: To keep things simple, we've decided to exclude any robots piloted by humans (sorry, Gundam fans), or characters that have artificial limbs but are still mostly human (sorry, Jet Black).
