Nickelodeon has announced a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is in development.
Titled Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for now, it'll be a 2D animated show with a total of 26 episodes in its first season and will premiere in the fall of 2018. Andy Suriano (Samurai Jack character designer) and Ant Ward (supervising producer on the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series) are producing the series.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will expand the mythology of the Ninja Turtles by featuring new villains and a "more mystical New York City," as the four protagonists discover a magical world beneath the city's streets while also gaining strange new mystic ninja powers.
