Donnie Yen to Star in Sleeping Dogs Adaptation

Rogue One and Ip Man actor Donnie Yen has been tapped to star in an adaptation of Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs.

Deadline reports that Yen, who recently starred in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, will play the Wei Shen character in the upcoming film. The movie's plot is described as following "an undercover police officer (Yen) on a mission to take down one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations in the world: the notorious Triads."

Neal Moritz’s Original Film (Fast and the Furious) is producing the Sleeping Dogs adaptation along with with DJ2 Entertainment. Moritz, Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will be producers, and Toby Ascher and Stephan Bugaj are executive producing. So far there is no attached director or slated release date.
