All-Female Avengers Movie 'Only a Matter of Time', Says Shuri Actress

It's "only a matter of time" before an all-female Avengers movie happens, according to Shuri actress Letitia Wright. Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment about her upcoming role in Amazon's Small Axe series, Wright explained that she's been campaigning for an all-female Avengers movie ever since the iconic female team up scene from 2019's Avengers Endgame. There, we saw essentially all of the MCU's superhero women take center stage. Wright wants an entire movie of that. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=marvel-cinematic-universe-every-upcoming-movie-and-tv-show&captions=true"] "I don't think we have to fight for it," Wright said. "Victoria Alonso [Marvel Studios executive vice president] is very strong about spearheading it, alongside [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige]. It's only a matter of time before they do it." Wright said her ultimate team up would include her Black Panther co-stars Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, and Angela Basset as Okoye, Nakia, and Ramonda respectively. She also threw Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie into the mix. One guarantee though, according to Wright, is Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. "Definitely have to have Captain Marvel, definitely," Wright said. "It was always a dream of mine to play someone that can be impactful not only for Black women, but also just for women around the world and young people," Wright said. "To be able to have a combination of people and audience members who are so thrilled and appreciative of Shuri is a good feeling. I feel like I contributed something positive in the world." While we're waiting for this all-female Avengers movie, read what Thompson had to say about an-all female Marvel movie and then read what Larson had to say about this possible movie after that. While Feige hasn't said anything publicly about Wright's all-female Avengers pitch, he did say that more female superheroes are coming to the MCU in future movies.
