J.K. Rowling's two-part stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is heading to the US on April 22, 2018.
Deadline reports the play will open at the Lyric Theatre in New York City. Further details about the play, including when tickets will be available for purchase, will be revealed in the coming months. The Lyric Theatre will be undergoing extensive renovations in preparation for the show.
Back in December, the play's producers confirmed they were in the "final stages" of negotiations to bring the show to Broadway.The Cursed Child recently earned 11 nominations for the Olivier Awards, British theater's most prestigious accolade, making it the most nominated new play in British theater history. It's now tied with the recent West End production of Hairspray, which set the record in 2008.
