It appears the next Assassin's Creed will likely take place in a long-rumored Egyptian setting, thanks to a leaked screenshot that has reportedly been confirmed as legitimate by non-Ubisoft sources.
We've reached out to Ubisoft for concrete confirmation on the legitimacy of the Assassin's Creed Egypt screenshot leak, but judging from the level of detail in the image, the aesthetic, and the flavor text that points to historically Egyptian characters, it seems a little more than possible that this is the real deal. If that's the case, this marks at least the 12th (!) leak in the long, porous history of the Assassin's Creed franchise. In fact, the only core entry in the series to date not to have been leaked in some fashion is Assassin's Creed 2.
