Based on the high demand for Nintendo Switch thus far, video game retailer GameStop expects Nintendo's new console to be in short supply throughout the year.
During its Q4 2016 earnings call, GameStop COO Tony Bartel said "the demand is incredibly strong" for Nintendo Switch, noting that "as soon as we get it into our stores it's out within hours." As such, Bartel said they "anticipate that we're going to be chasing supply this entire year."
He also spoke to the console's high attach rate, especially in the cast of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. "We almost have a 1:1 attach with Zelda," Bartel said.
