Development Has Begun on Life Is Strange 2

A new Life Is Strange game is officially in development, developer Dontnod announced today.

Work on the game began shortly after the physical version of Season 1 shipped in January 2016, according to a post on Square Enix's official website. There's no word on whether the new game will pick up after the events of the first, or if it will even follow the same cast of characters at all.

Dontnod added it won't be showing off the project at this year's E3.

In addition to the announcement, Dontnod revealed Life Is Strange has passed 3 million "unique paying players" — a figure that doesn't include those who downloaded the series' first episode for free.
