The Last Jedi Is 2017's Highest-Grossing Movie

With $533.1 million in ticket sales in just three weeks of release -- including an additional first place finish of $52.7 million over New Year's weekend -- Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now the No. 1 movie of 2017 at the domestic box office.

The Last Jedi dethroned another Disney release, Beauty and the Beast, which drops to second place with $504 million. As of January 1, 2018, however, Beauty and the Beast remains the No. 1 movie of 2017 worldwide with nearly $1.3 billion.
