Regulator tells companies to ensure promotions are “administered fairly” in future.
Six people complained to the ASA after it was discovered that users were able to gain an unfair advantage in getting hold of one of the consoles by bypassing certain elements of the promotion and sharing a link to the required form with others.
The promotion was only supposed to offer the first 100 eligible entrants each day the opportunity to purchase a console on a first-come, first-served basis after solving a clue provided by Sony.
