Codemasters has the F1 license for one more year

But it intends to renew the contract after next year’s game.






After that, the publisher intends to renew the licensing agreement with the Formula One Group.


“We have [the license for] one more year,” Embling told VideoGamer.com earlier this month, “so we can release a title [after F1 2015] and then I believe the intention is to renew the contract after that.”


Codemasters has yet to formally announce plans for F1 beyond this year’s F1 2015 but, given Embling’s comments, you can probably expect to see F1 2016 arrive roughly 12 months later.


F1 2015 is due to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 12. Codemasters…
