As convenient as modern smartphones have become, they've been lacking one feature: the ability to play Sega games for free. Thankfully, Sega has righted this wrong with the introduction of Sega Forever.
Sega Forever is a collection of free-to-play, ad-supported Sega games featuring offline play, "cloud saves, controller support, and leaderboards," according to Sega's mobile division Sega Networks Inc.
Once downloaded, the games can be unlocked and ads removed for $2. The first round of games includes the original Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon and the Genesis port of Altered Beast. The games also include iMessage sticker packs.
Sega's Mike Evans said the collection is first and foremost "a celebration of nostalgia."
