The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago has upheld a federal judge's decision to overturn the murder conviction of Brendan Dassey, one of the subjects of Netflix's Making a Murderer documentary series.
As BBC reports, Dassey and his uncle, Steven Avery, were found guilty of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach. Following the trial in 2007, both men were sentenced to life in prison. However, Dassey's conviction was overturned last August on the grounds that his confession was coerced.
