New Friday the 13th and The Ring Sequels Delayed

Paramount announced it has once again pushed back two of its upcoming horror sequels/reboots: Friday the 13th and Rings.

Previously slated for January 13, the next chapter in the Jason Voorhees saga will now debut October 13, 2017, according to Variety. This marks the fourth time the film's release has been postponed.

Meanwhile, the third delay for the third Ring movie sees Rings move from October 28 to February 3, 2017. As Variety notes, no reasons were cited for the delays.

According to producer Brad Fuller, the new Friday the 13th will tell a Jason origin story "no one has seen before." The Crazies and The Last Witch Hunter director Breck Eisner may helm the project.
