Harmonix, creators of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, have announced a new rhythm-shooter for VR called Audica.
Revealed on Twitter alongside an official website, the description calls Audica a "VR rhythm shooter that combines Harmonix's award-winning music gameplay with precision shooting mechanics and a killer soundtrack, all set in a mesmerizing cosmic arena.” Audica will be released through Early Access on Oculus Rift and Steam VR on March 7.
Beyond a reveal trailer, the development team will be playing Audica on Twitch and Mixer tomorrow starting at 2pm PT. In GameInformer’s first look, Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos says “It’s an invented word that is meant to simultaneously evoke sound and music, as well as a sense of place. We really wanted to create a place for the player to go that felt special, and to allude to that in the name as well.”
