Netflix's Everything Sucks! is a quirky coming-of-age dramedy about a group of freshman from the AV club fighting for survival as the upperclassmen of the drama club threaten to make their high school lives a living hell (check out our Season 1 review here). The series features excellent performances from the cast, including the kids and their parents. At its best, Everything Sucks! is one of the better high school-based series in recent memory, echoing some of the classics like Saved by the Bell and Freaks and Geeks.
Since Everything Sucks! is set in 1996, there is a treasure trove of '90s nostalgia to feast your eyes on like VHS tapes, rising young musicians like Tori Amos, and troll dolls. Find out all the '90s references we discovered below.
