Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Rights Picked up by Paramount

The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie is now in the works at Paramount Pictures.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has acquired the rights to develop a feature-length film about the speedy blue hedgehog. The movie was put into turnaround at Sony Pictures, and Neal Moritz' production company Original Film signed a first-look deal with the studio.

Moritz will produce the project, with Deadpool director Tim Miller taking up an executive producer role. Miller's known collaborator and Oscar nominee Jeff Fowler will make his debut as a director on the currently untitled Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
