The Defenders sees the heroes of Marvel’s four Netflix shows come together to stop a bigger threat brought about by a mysterious villain. This 8 episode mini-series gets off to a slow start, but it’s all worth it to see Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage standing in a room together, balking at each other’s weird backstories and unbelievable abilities.
The first four episodes were made available to press to watch before the August 18 release date, so what follows is a first impression of what I saw. Full reviews will be posted once the show debuts. I’m keeping things general and not going into any spoilers, but if you really don’t want to know a thing, best wait to watch it for yourself.
