Trey Parker and Matt Stone have decided reality is funnier than anything South Park could satirize.
Speaking to Australia's ABC News, Parker said what has happened in the US political climate is "much funnier than anything we could come up with."
"It's tricky now because satire has become reality," Parker joked. Stone said the two welcome the "little break" while politicians take on the heavy comedy lifting.
"Let everyone in government do their comedy for a little bit," he laughed.
South Park Season 20 saw the character of Mr. Garrison, with his orange spray tan and staunch anti-immigrant platform adopted in Season 19, as a stand-in for the current US president.
