Square Enix enjoys strong first quarter

Game sales and profit jump despite lack of new releases.
The Japanese firm’s digital entertainment segment, which houses its gaming operations, generated 23.45 billion yen in sales (£136m/$229m), up 102.6 per cent compared to the same period of the prior fiscal year, while operating income increased 242 per cent to 4.5 billion yen (£26m/$44m).
