Nintendo Focused on Expanding the Reach of Its IP

Nintendo is focused on expanding the reach of its IP by "actively leveraging the worldwide ubiquity of smart devices and on

IP expansion business, which includes theme parks, video content, and character merchandising."

During Nintendo's financial results briefing, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa discussed how Nintendo has evolved its strategy of "gaming population expansion" during the Nintendo DS and Wii era to its new focus to "expand the number of people who have access to Nintendo IP."

Nintendo's "gaming population expansion" strategy was adopted due to a preconceived notion that "games were only for a select group of fans," and it wanted to ensure everyone could game, "regardless of age, gender, or gaming experience."

How Arrow is Building Toward a Future That Doesn’t Include Oliver Queen

The CW’s “Elseworlds” crossover was definitely an entertaining spectacle, but the most exciting aspect of this year’s annual Arrowverse mashup was what it revealed about where the CW’s superhero universe might be headed. Not only are we now officially slated to get the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” adaptation every DC fan has been praying for since The Flash pilot aired, it seems as though the network may be considering what to do with the series that started it all.

Arrow will wrap up its seventh season this year, and the dangling “Elseworlds” plot thread of a mysterious deal between Green Arrow Oliver Queen and multiverse guardian the Monitor leaves the CW with several options for how to continue it. The CW has just renewed Arrow (and the other DC TV shows) for another season, but at the moment there’s no guarantee that it will look anything like the show we’re watching now. Why? Well, for starters, it feels a lot like Arrow could be looking for a way to write out its lead. According to THR, CW boss Mark Pedowitz "said it's highly likely that the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover would feature a character death" when speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour this week.

Kano, the infamous mercenary with a cybernetic laser eye, is officially coming to Mortal Kombat 11.

Revealed on Twitter, Kano is shown as shirtless (as per usual) and is brandishing his knife. Kano’s appearance doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as he’s one of the franchise’s original fighters and also appeared in Mortal Kombat X.

Who Should Play the New Batman After Ben Affleck?

Ben Affleck has officially hung up the cape and cowl and will not reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in writer-director Matt Reeves' reboot, The Batman, which opens June 2021.

Reeves is reportedly looking for an actor in his 20s -- in his 30s at the oldest -- to play his Bruce Wayne so that officially closes the door on Zack Snyder and Affleck's middle-aged, Frank Miller-esque incarnation of the DC Comics superhero.

Can Superman's Inspirational Speech Save The DC Universe?

Warning: full spoilers for DC’s Heroes in Crisis by Tom King and Clay Mann ahead!

Following the horrifying massacre at the superhuman post traumatic stress center, Sanctuary, and its subsequent public reveal care of a mysterious leak in security, DC's iconic Trinity has been struggling to right the ship that is the superheroic community of the DC Universe -- and in Heroes in Crisis #5, the Man of Steel himself got to take his turn in the spotlight. Speaking to a large crowd of people and news cameras, Superman gave a stirring speech about the complicated and challenging questions raised by Sanctuary's existence, and in the process, managed to highlight the cracks in virtually every idea the DC Universe has been built on. Superman may be the most famous and well-recognized superhero in the world because of his incredible Kryptonian abilities, but this time it was a simple speech that may have changed the DCU for the better.

Fallout 76 Temporarily Taken Offline After Patch Reintroduces Old Bugs

The Fallout 76 community is once again upset with Bethesda, as previously patched bugs were discovered following the release of Patch 5 earlier this week.

Bethesda took Fallout 76 offline for over an hour today to roll out a "hot fix" aimed at addressing those bugs. While the quick action to correct course is commendable, the incident has once again soured a community already fatigued by controversy and perceived mistreatment.

Patch 5, which was released on January 29, brought with it a long list of gameplay tweaks, such as capping carrying weight and rebalancing certain weapons and perks. The patch notes also include an even longer list of bug fixes, targeting everything from graphics and performance to quests and PvP. However, in they eyes of some players — many of whom can be found posting on the Fallout 76 subreddit — the problems introduced by the patch outweigh those it solved.

Family Guy's 20 Best Episodes

As hard as it is to believe, Family Guy first aired 20 years ago, debuting after Super Bowl XXXIII on January 31, 1999. It's been a long, interesting road since. Family Guy managed to develop a cult following, survive cancellation, and return to FOX more popular than ever. It's spawned a spinoff series and made creator Seth MacFarlane a major player in Hollywood.

And while Family Guy isn't exactly always known for its highbrow quality, what with its emphasis on cutaway jokes, shock value, and pop culture references over plot, it's still delivered some pretty memorable episodes over the course of 17 seasons. In honor of this anniversary, we've selected the 20 best episodes from Family Guy's long run.

Mob Psycho 100 Packs as Strong a Punch as One-Punch Man

These days, it's almost impossible to navigate through life without hearing about superheroes. They're everywhere: in our TV shows, in our long-standing movie franchises, in our games, and even in our cereal boxes. People and the media love them, and it's easy to see this globally, whether it's Marvel spin-offs or in the case of anime lately, stories by ONE, the writer behind One-Punch Man. This anime season in particular returns with a ONE show, but it's not One-Punch Man (you'll have to wait till April for that!); rather, it's the equally mesmerizing Mob Psycho 100.

It's clear ONE is obsessed with our vision of a heroic icon: you could even argue that his works are an attempt to demystify the traditional superhero by clashing them with harrowing and realistic issues. In One-Punch Man, the main protagonist, Saitama, is so powerful he can defeat any of his opponents in one attack. It's originally used for comedic purposes, but ONE also quickly dives into how hard work, satisfaction, and the idea of "aiming for the top!" are all ambiguous and useless ideas when society refuses to acknowledge them from a personal standpoint. The result is a man who grows increasingly dissatisfied with the selfish hierarchy of power as he tries to navigate around them and find his place in life. It would almost be depressing if it wasn't also charming and funny at the same time: ONE makes sure to balance parody with brutal satire.

It Looks Like Marshmello's Playing a Concert This Weekend... in Fortnite

Marshmello, an American DJ and electronic music producer, will almost definitely be playing a concert in Fortnite this weekend.

Though Epic has not made any official announcements, the evidence that this concert will be happening is solid. The Best Nintendo Switch Game Deals of the Week

If you buy something through this post, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.

Nintendo Switch owners looking for something new to play can find some good deals this week on games like Mario Tennis AcesMonster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and a lot more. We’ve sifted through the sales at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy, and collected the best deals below. Read on to see what games you can save money on this week.

For starters, you can save a tiny amount of money on two of the biggest, newest Switch games on the market. The titles in question are New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which are available for $56.99 each from Amazon. That only saves you $3 apiece, but don't expect to find a better deal anytime soon. First-party Nintendo games are notorious for staying at their full list price for months or even years after launch. Does that mean we should thank our lucky stars for saving 5%? No, but if you're going to buy the games anyway, you might as well get them for $3 off and buy yourself a nice cup of coffee with the savings.

Picard TV Series Boss Gives Update on Production

While fans eagerly await Patrick Stewart's return as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming CBS All Access series, details surrounding the plot have been difficult to come by. At the 2019 TCA winter press tour, Star Trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman spoke to a group of journalists about the show's overall tone.

"Everybody in that

room loves Jean-Luc Picard very deeply," explained Kurtzman. "The benefit that we have, is that Jean-Luc Picard is in the room with us. As we're creating the story, we're asking ourselves, how do we live up to the spirit, character, and the tone that Next Gen set, but also make it something very different."

The upcoming Picard series will take place some 20 years after 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis. Kurtzman informed us that Picard's character has changed emotionally as a result of the time jump.

First Trailer for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw Drops Friday

The first trailer for the Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw will debut on Friday.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars as Luke Hobbs in the upcoming film and posted to his Twitter account about the impending trailer drop. The tweet features a short teaser video revealing Johnson as Hobbs behind an opening garage door. The actor promises the film will offer the "biggest showdown" out of any in the popular Fast and Furious franchise.

New Overwatch Paris Map Live on PTR

Overwatch has just released its new Paris map on the games' public test region server.

The new map is an assault map like Temple of Anubis and Volskaya Industries. As such it will see players trying to capture or defend points while navigating iconic Parisian scenery alongside the Seine river.

The landmarks include the Cabaret Luna, Pâtisserie Galand, and the grand palace located in the centre of the city, Maison Marat.

Blizzard also released several posters advertising the Cabaret Luna which appear to feature humans and the robotic Omnics in equal measure and potentially even in romantic engagements.

While this Paris map is already available for players to jump in on the PTR there's no word about when we'll see it on the regular servers where the Overwatch Year of The Pig celebrations are in full swing.
