343 Industries has announced Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare, a new expansion that introduces the Flood to its real-time strategy game.
As detailed on Halo Waypoint, Awakening the Nightmare will feature a new set of campaign missions that expand the Halo Wars 2 story from the perspective of the Banished as they face off against the Flood.
A new cooperative mode called Terminus Firefight, where players must work together to survive an enemy assault, will be included as well.
The expansion will also add two new Banished multiplayer leaders, as well as two additional multiplayer maps. The aforementioned maps will be available free of charge to everyone who owns Halo Wars 2, regardless of whether or not they purchase the expansion.
